House Energy Subcmte. Hearing on Oil Spill Impact on Tourism

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) chaired a House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce and Trade hearing on the Gulf oil spill’s impact on the tourism industry. Witnesses included Kenneth Feinberg, administrator of the $20 billion Gulf oil spill compensation fund. The U.S. Travel Association says the tourism industry accounts for one million jobs in the Gulf region and $39 billion in annual tax receipts.
