Sec. Clinton: "Now Is the Opportunity To End This Conflict"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are in negotiations to the conflict between their governments, with Sec. of State Hillary Clinton moderating the talks. This is the first face-to-face meeting on Middle East peace talks since December 2008. President Obama met yesterday with the leaders of Israel, Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority and they later participated in a working dinner at the White House.

Pres. Obama & Middle East Leaders Statements on the Peace Talks President Obama held Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas at the White House. Before kicking off a series of meetings with Middle East leaders, President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Middle East Peace Special Envoy George Mitchell spoke to reporters on the peace talks. Following their meeting, he and President Netanyahu condemned the recent deadly shootings in the West Bank, which led to the deaths of four Jewish settlers. Later, all three leaders made statements to the press on Middle East peace talks.
